This did not dampen their spirits at all however, and they had great fun first of all painting egg boxes with colours they had mixed, and then searching for items on the school field that matched those colours.

They also launched their wildflower seed balls they'd created last week, so hopefully we will soon start to see some beautiful wildflowers appear!

The corridors of our school now boast an impressive display of our artistic endeavours. Each unique portrait hangs gracefully, catching the eye of passersby and inviting them to decipher the mysteries they hold. The portraits burst with energy, capturing the essence of our subjects and immortalising them in a way that only Pop Art can.

The children wasted no time in making the most of their newfound resource. With their imaginations running wild, they immersed themselves in the task of constructing walls and exploring the intricate workings of water pipes. The construction shed became a hub of bustling activity, with vibrant conversations and joyful laughter filling the air.

Pupils gathered an assortment of materials, including twigs, feathers and leaves to harness the beauty of nature and incorporate it into their artistic endeavours. It was a perfect blend of creativity and sustainability, as they utilised the resources readily available in their surroundings.

The trip gave the children a chance to explore a range of artefacts from the time period, immersing themselves in the fascinating history of the Pilgrims and their journey. From interactive displays to informative exhibits, the students were able to learn about the challenges that the Pilgrims faced on their voyage and the impact they had on American history.

The students were treated to a wide range of book-themed activities, which included storytelling sessions, book quizzes, and dress-up competitions. Everyone looked fantastic in their costumes, and the excitement was palpable.

Luckily, Class 3 were learning all about CSI techniques that day so were able to use the evidence left at the scene of the crime to swiftly solve the mystery and identify the culprit.

We enjoyed converting our classroom into our very own mead-hall, inspired by Beowulf, and feasted on bread, honey and mead... non-alcoholic of course!

We then learnt all about Kennings poems which originated from the Anglo-Saxon/Viking era and performed them to one-another just like they would've in real mead-halls.

It was enjoyed by all the children and the staff, who were on-hand to help serve and eat with the children.

We once again welcomed our beloved Debbie with a fresh delivery of pig lungs. Prior to this, we learned all about the different parts of the lungs including the trachea, the bronchioles and the alveoli.

To cement our understanding of how the heart works, we dissected real-life pig hearts, which also links to our class text 'Pig Heart Boy' by Malorie Blackman (honestly, it's almost like someone had planned this).

The teamwork, attitude and camaraderie epitomises what Landulph is all about and our students demonstrated this in abundance.
